SST'10

My mom could not have thought of a better name for her visit with Aunt Wende to come visit me in Copenhagen this past week: Sunlight Shortage Tour 2010. I remember sending her an email back when they were planning the trip saying, "Well Mom, if you come in November there will only be a few hours of light for us to work with." Her response was simply, "We're prepared to be the best Vikings Denmark's ever had." And that they were. Having Aunt Wende and Mom here was truly such a special treat that I enjoyed beyond belief. It was so nice seeing family and have the hugs that I have missed so much. We planned a special event every day and did as much as we could in the eight hours of sunlight available. They were great and I'm so thankful that I had the opportunity to
show them around my "Fall 2010 home."

First complete day in Copenhagen at Nyhavn after the Green Bus Tour
Notice the Flying Baby in the background? It's a landmark.
We went to Tivoli, the world's oldest theme park, the first evening for a walk under the Christmas lights

Eating Schwarma
A visit to Fredericksborg Castle in my hometown

We then picked up my two friends, Tijana and Fredydis, and took them out to dinner

The next morning we went to Klampenborg and took a carriage ride through the King's old hunting quarters

A Chilli Milli lunch with Becca and Clair

Our last full day together, the three of us went to Helsingor and took a ferry to Helsingborg in Sweden

I love my mom.
